This free small business bootcamp, launching on October 23-24, offers participants the choice between two tracks: Startup or Existing Business. Kickoff sessions will be held in-person in Shasta County on Oct. 23 and Siskiyou County on Oct. 24, with the rest of the eight-week curriculum taking place online via Zoom. BONUS: Completing this program makes you eligible to apply for a $25,000 Innovation Grant to fuel your business growth.

• Businesses (or entrepreneurs) must be located in Shasta, Siskiyou, Trinity, or Modoc counties.  

• Businesses started prior to 2021 must register for the existing business track 

• Businesses with more than 100 employees may take the course but are not eligible for the Innovation Grant

Program participants will: 

• Craft a solidified business plan to launch or grow their outdoor recreation business 

• Hear from outdoor recreation and small business experts including entrepreneurs, executives, investors, marketing professionals, and finance experts 

• Network with and learn from other outdoor recreation business owners in the region 

• Be invited to apply for a $25,000 Business Innovation grant to make their business idea or expansion plans a reality 

Founded Outdoors and the SEDC have worked together to survey business owners and build a custom curriculum tailored to the specific needs of outdoor recreation businesses within the Shasta-Cascade region.

Bay-Area based Founded Outdoors builds support for entrepreneurs from all different backgrounds to build and grow successful companies. They offer a range of programs, resources, and a vibrant online community to support business owners. Leveraging their extensive experience with outdoor entrepreneurs, they collaborate with industry groups to spearhead initiatives that support emerging outdoor businesses and drive growth of the outdoor economy.
