Two Norcal Small Business Development Centers Combine to Expand Services
YREKA, Calif. – Big benefits are in store for small business owners in Shasta, Siskiyou, and Trinity counties this spring. Effective April 1, the two independent Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) serving the three counties (Siskiyou SBDC and Shasta-Cascade SBDC) will merge under the Shasta-Cascade SBDC banner to offer more expansive services to small businesses across the North State.
Funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), SBDCs across the nation provide small businesses with free, expert-level counseling services in areas including access to capital, human resources, compliance, marketing, accounting, pandemic recovery, business planning, and more. Since 2018, the SBDCs in Shasta, Siskiyou, and Trinity counties have helped more than 1,500 small businesses invest over $46 million and create 674 jobs.
“This merger is a win-win for small business owners in our region,” said new Shasta-Cascade SBDC Director Quintin Gaddy. “Clients will have access not only to their current local advisors, but also to the larger network of advisors serving the whole region. [This is an added bonus of access to additional local advisors across county lines]. In turn, advisors and staff will benefit from the added support and resources of a regional center.”
Starting April 1, the Shasta-Cascade SBDC will be operated by the Siskiyou County Economic Development Council, and will maintain the existing office in Redding as well as the existing satellite office in Yreka. Current clients can continue to reach out to their advisors and staff as usual.
