The Yreka Carnegie Library building is comprised of the original historic footprint, with the main entrance on Historic Miner Street and new ADA access planned via a new ramp and entrance on the east side. The building includes the main historic floor and the basement that housed the boiler and current equipment room. The north end of the building incudes a two-story addition that was added in the 1970’s by the Yreka Police Station. The addition’s will be reconfigured to serve as a conference room, kitchen and ADA bathroom on the first level floor, and the SEDC offices on the second floor. The Carnegie Library (including the addition) is approximately 3,300 square feet. The total property parcel exceeds 8,000 square feet, and includes a parking lot on the north side, and its landscaped front.
