Siskiyou EDC Launches New Agriculture Programs

YREKA, CALIF., Dec 19, 2022- Siskiyou Economic Development is using newly available funding to create agriculture programs to help our farms, ranches and food producers solve problems and reach new market opportunities. The Siskiyou EDC is working hard to make sure that agriculture businesses and industries in the county have a strong and successful future. Three new agriculture programs intend to help Siskiyou County farms, ranchers and food producers innovate and reach new market opportunities. There are a variety of ways that agriculture businesses can connect.

Siskiyou Farm Co.
Siskiyou Farm Co. is an online platform for Siskiyou County agriculture food producers to sell directly to the customer, year-round. A growing number of beta-testers are using Siskiyou Farm Co. to order, fulfill and pickup local food products.

The Siskiyou AGccelerator
The Siskiyou AGccelerator is designed to guide farm and ranch businesses through economic uncertainty and build resiliency. Participants are matched with a top advisor to address unique business problems and goals. The Siskiyou EDC has made available advising with some of the industry’s top minds, including Jack Rice, Dave Pratt and Poppy Davis. AGccelerator participants can also connect with other Siskiyou farm/ranch businesses through virtual and in-person workshops, training, and networking.

Ranching for Profit
Dave Pratt is one of the most sought-after speakers on sustainable agriculture and profitable ranching in the world today. The Siskiyou EDC is proud to present Ranch Management Consultant, Dave Pratt, as he provides three exciting and interactive Ranching for Profit workshops in Siskiyou County. Pratt’s workshops provide the tools farmers and ranchers need, to improve their land and create a profitable business for the future. Workshops are January 26, March 16, and May 18-19.

Our agriculture programs connect resources and specialized expertise to our farms, ranchers and food producers. We are here to help Siskiyou County’s agriculture sector innovate, and solve emerging problems— in new ways.

Siskiyou Agriculture producers are encouraged to enroll online and email niki@siskiyoucounty.org to connect.
