2022 by the Numbers

Siskiyou County, Calif., December 30, 2022— This year, we saw new and enduring support of businesses through the Small Business Development Center. We launched changemaking Agriculture programs. Our team secured and activated more than $1 million in brownfield assessment and cleanup funding to bring key locations closer to redevelopment. Discover Siskiyou reached 12K Instagram followers, and infused $30,000 in support of local events. To address climate impacts, we formed the Siskiyou Climate Collaborative with five partner organizations, and will receive 1.5 million from the California Strategic Growth Council to help our region address climate challenges.

Siskiyou SBDC

Infused $3,151,545 in economic capital in Siskiyou's communities, provided 157 businesses with one-on-one counseling, supported 443 Siskiyou County jobs.

Siskiyou Farm Co.

Facilitated 300+ individual Siskiyou Farm Co. transactions between local residents and local farm/food producers. Beta testing generated over $22,000 in increased revenues to participating local businesses and made local food more easily accessible to communities throughout Siskiyou. 

Brownfields

Leveraged over $800,000 in EPA funding, in partnership with the City of Mt. Shasta, to complete assessment and cleanup work on the Landing, bringing the site to near completion and to being fully prepared for redevelopment. 

Discover Siskiyou

Grew our Instagram following to 12K, awarded $30,000 in marketing funding to 10 local events, and worked with Leave No Trace to launch the WANDER Pledge to educate visitors on responsible recreation practices in Siskiyou. Check out the month-by-month marketing effort designed to drive overnight stays in Siskiyou County hotels

Siskiyou Climate Collaborative

Formed the Siskiyou Climate Collaborative to meet climate challenges through innovation and investment in our Working Landscape. The collaborative was awarded 1.5 million in competitive funding in December to help our region address climate challenges.
