Siskiyou EDC Brings Ranching for Profit Workshop Series to Siskiyou

 

YREKA, Calif., Jan. 23rd, 2023- The Siskiyou Economic Development Council (SEDC) is proud to announce that it will bring the world-renowned Ranching for Profit Workshop Series to Yreka for the first time ever starting this January. The three-part workshop series is offered free of charge to Siskiyou County agriculture producers through the SEDC’s new AGccelerator program.

Ranching for Profit will connect Siskiyou County producers to resources and new market opportunitiesvthat might not otherwise be accessible. Additionally, it aims to help these producers adapt and thrivevin an ever-changing landscape while continuing to promote sustainable practices.

Session one, “Three Secrets for Increasing Profits,” will be held on Thursday, January 26 at the Best Western Miner’s Inn in Yreka from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring Ranch Management Consultant Dave Pratt. A Northern California native, Dave Pratt is one of the most sought-after speakers on sustainable agriculture and profitable ranching in the world today. He has taught the Ranching for Profit School in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and Africa.

“When participants leave the workshop and return home, they will see their business through a new lens,” Pratt said. “They will have insights and tools to begin transforming their enterprises into successful businesses so that, rather than just working for their enterprise, their enterprise will start working for them.”

SEDC Complimentary access is available to Siskiyou County residents through funding provided by the SEDC AGccelerator program. With agriculture as a leading industry in Siskiyou County, the SEDC continues to advocate and leverage funding for these vital programs as California increases its focus on the support and expansion of its agriculture industries.

The second and third sessions are scheduled for March 16 and May18-19, and topics will include strategic planning during uncertain times and creating effective systems.
