It is part of our mission to increase the availability of development-ready properties in Siskiyou County. The SCEDC has submitted grant requests to the US Environmental Protection Agency on behalf of our partner communities. The funding allows communities to identify properties with a prior use and certify that the properties are ready for development through performing assessments and applying for cleanup funding if necessary. This allows communities to recycle land into the local economic base.
- City of Yreka - Awarded $400,000 in 2009 - Assessment funding from this grant allowed for the development of an old mill site to the future home of the Belcampo Butchery.
